For a while, they contemplate divorce, but the couple manages to overcome their difficulties and stay together. Things begin to look up, but a few years later, Chris is killed in a car accident. For a while, he does not realize he is dead, but with the help of a spirit, Chris is able to leave Earth and a grieving Annie behind. Chris awakens in Heaven, where he beholds a world far more beautiful than he can imagine.
